I do not intend to present myself as a chef, nutritionist, herbalist, or food expert. I am just a "down-home" old fashioned cook. I believe food should be real, not imitation. Real ingredients makes the food taste so much more flavorful. I love big loaves of whole wheat bread fresh out of the oven. Somehow my mid-western background turned into a wheat and dairy allergy. So, here is the search for good foods that can be eaten by those who are intolerant to wheat or dairy. I may include other allergies as time goes on. Right now this blog is to facilitate the search for flavor and those same big bread foods in gluten and dairy free recipes.
I still cook whole wheat bread now and again, or banana cream pie with all the REAL ingredients. Usually these are served when there are others to help her consume them. My allergies are mostly an annoyance as with most other allergies. Some people have a life threatening and/or painful experience with food allergies. If that is the case for you, reading labels and recipes very carefully would be essential.
